My Favourite Full Coverage Foundations

I’m either bare faced with not a scrape of makeup on or a full coverage, let me cake it on kind of girl! There is no in-between with me. I love lazy days in my PJs with fresh skin and maybe a cheeky face mask but then when I go out I just love getting ready and using extra glam makeup. I admit I usually have a better time getting ready then I do actually out. Who’s with me on that?

Below is my ultimate favourite foundations for that full  coverage, flawless look. I have combination skin for reference, with a super oily chin.

Estee Lauder Double Wear – £33.50

Let’s just say this is the UK’s bestselling foundation for a reason. You can build this up to full coverage with a matte finish. This foundation makes pores non existent. I would say you have to work very quickly when you are blending this into your skin as it dries very very fast.  However there’s the fact that from the moment you put it on, it does not shift until you take it off that night, not one bit of oil will defeat this foundation, it’s amazing.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation – £35

NARS’ first 16-hour wear foundation, you’d be mistaken if you thought this was going to be dry and overly matte, because frankly, it aint. Infused with watermelon, apple and raspberry extract to give a radiant finish, it’s the healthiest full coverage foundation you’ll find. I do need to set my face with my Laura Mercier Translucent powder though to make sure this foundation lasts. It’s not the most longwearing foundation I own, but the finish and coverage is so beautiful I don’t care!

foundation4

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – £42

Foundation sticks are the stuff of lazy girl (aka our) dreams. And with its triangular design for easy precision and the most perfectly creamy formula imaginable, the Hourglass Vanish stick foundation is a must. It is so easy to build up to your desirable coverage or mixed with another foundation. I find this foundation more on the dewy side for my combination skin so I love to mix it with matte foundations to create my custom finish. The shade nude is my ultimate match.

foundation3

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation – £33

Don’t let the word ‘sheer’ put you off. There is just the right amount of coverage to cover blemishes, and inconstancy in the skin, yet at the same time I can still see some of my freckles, which I love. This will last me an entire day at work, without any touch ups throughout the day. I have a really oily chin and a lot of foundations separate in that area but this stays put, which is surprising as it isn’t a matt foundation.

foundation8

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation – £35

Like the Estee Lauder Double Wear, this foundation is seriously budge proof. This foundation is my go to when I need my foundation to stay put for a serious amount of time and still look flawless by the time I’m ready to take it off. I find wearing a glowy primer underneath will get you the best result because the foundation is quite matte. I always have a good make up day with this foundation!

foundation2

Dior Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation – £37

Another budge proof foundation which makes your skin look flawless. This foundation is very lightweight on the skin, even though it is a matte foundation. I feel it looks even better if I don’t powder too much which is a bonus. I also prefer this foundation with a dewy primer or moisturizer. I only have my tanned shade in this foundation so haven’t worn it much over the winter months, I need to go get my pale shade and stop pretending I’m tanned all year round. The bottle is also one of my favourite designs, it’s so luxurious.
