My make up style is glam but still natural looking, if that even makes sense! For me a light wash of crease colour and a shimmery lid is just perfection, and a look you can take you from a day at the office to a night out on the town. I am a warm tone kind of girl and the Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette is my idea of heaven. I ordered mine from the USA (and paid an arm and a leg), however good news ladies it is now in stocked in the UK on BeautyBay.com, so I thought I would review the palette and feature it in a tutorial creating a soft glam look.
The Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette review
The palette contains 35 eyeshadows with most of them living within the warm, neutral family, but there were a few pops of color as well. The eyeshadows are supposed to have “the best color payoff” and “amazing application.”
The shimmery shades are a denser, creamier consistency–the kind that you can tell there are silicones in it–and will work best with someone with a slightly heavier hand or uses firmer brushes. If you use a really light hand with this type of formula, you just won’t pickup much product on your brush, so really get in there. The shimmers are pigmented and you can build them up for an intense colour, for an extra pop spray your brush with a setting spray to intensify the metallic sheen.
The matte eyeshadows arent thin but their not quite as creamy as some of the best matte eyeshadows on the market (Kat Von D Shade & light eye palette). The pigmentation varies from medium to opaque, but the majority of the matte eyeshadows that seems less pigmented are very buildable and blendable on the lid. They largely perform much better in practice than swatched.
Overall for £37 and for 35 shadows this palette is definitely worth your money. The shadows aren’t the highest quality but they blend out effortlessly and have rich colour pay off. I have never created a look with this palette and been disappointed with the outcome. If your a warm tone kind of girl like me but want the option to have a pop of colour then I highly recommend this palette, or if you’re a die hard Jaclyn Hill fan then what are you waiting for?
